Mankind has always made technological advances since early days and the world of cheap can koozies is also an area that is not going to be left behind in innovations and technological advancements. The advancements in can koozies in the recent past have all been in the area of marketing and purchasing ease of koozies. However, I believe that the next generation of koozies will be through the use of advanced materials. Being an engineer myself, this is the idea I would like to propose. Make the koozies out of memory foam material. Memory foam material is visco-elastic polyurethane foam. This material remains harder when cold and softer when warm and is therefore used in mattresses and pillows because it can conform to the shape of the body due to the warmth of the human body. By the same token, when used as a can koozie material, memory foam can do wonders. For example, because the face that is closest to the beverage is cooler, that face will stay firmer. And the face that is closest to the human palm will be warmer and so it will become softer and therefore conform to the shape of the holder’s palm. This will allow for a firmer grip as well as prevention of the beverage from falling down. This is especially important for older people with feeble holding powers.

Of course the price of the memory foam koozies will be higher than that of its neoprene counterparts initially. But as time goes on and price of visco-elastic polyurethane foam comes down, the price of memory foam koozies will also drop down to more earthly levels.
